Item Details

Description

A rare mid Victorian Staffordshire pottery figure group of an eagle and child, the eagle with wings outstretched, the well-modelled feathers with gilt highlights, over naturalistic rockwork and the recumbent child, on yellow tinted base, 14.75" (37.5cm) high.

Condition

A few 'flea bites' to wings, Some rubbing to gilding. General paint flaking to rockwork and to bird's beak and feet. small losses to shredded lay bocage, but otherwise structurally sound.
