French Chronos & Amour Silk Thread Figural Mantle Clock. "Love & time"; large boat with swan's heads, amour at the stern, sitting at the bow is the large figure of Chronos (Father Time) with his staff and hour glass, on a bronze base with bronze mounts and winged lion's paw feet. Beautiful gilt bronze finish and in excellent overall condition. 4.5 in. enameled dial with black roman hour numerals and open moon hands, dial signed “Mme. Gentilhomme Palais Royal a Paris”; typical round brass spring driven movement with silk thread suspension and half hour count wheel strike mechanism on a coiled gong. 21 in. high x 21.5 in. wide x 5 in. deep.
