ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERY PEARLWARE PEAFOWL TODDY PLATES, LOT OF TWO, of octagonal shape with shell-border to rim, painted with green or brown bands enclosing stylized fanciful birds on brown branches, surrounded by brushy green leaves. One impressed C and the other with a brown x to underside. Circa 1800-1820. 5 1/4" DOA.

Published: George and Mickey Deike - Feathers and Foliage, pp. 110-111, figs. 5.79, lower left and 5.81, left.

Provenance: From the personal collection of George and Mickey Deike.

Condition

Undamaged except for a minor flake to one foot-rim.
