Description

ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERY PEARLWARE HOLLOW MOLDED FIGURE OF A BIRD, bending over and pecking at a branch on an incorporated ovular base, painted with splotches manganese and green, glazed interior. Circa 1790-1810. 2 1/2" H.

Provenance: From the personal collection of George and Mickey Deike.
Catalogue Note: This figure falls into a group of animals that could be potted anywhere between Devonshire (Indio Factory, Bovey Tracey) and southern Scotland.

Condition

Excellent condition, with two shallow flakes to base, and with a glazed-over chip under base.
