Item Details
Description
Prehistoric Native American, North America, southwest corner of New Mexico along Mogollon Rim into Arizona, Mogollon culture, ca. 1100 - 1250 CE. The Mogollon peoples excelled in the art of ceramics. Mogollon pottery is typically constructed of iron-rich volcanic clays which usually turn to dark brown. Vessels were constructed using the coil-and-scrape technique. The two coils that have been left corrugated and indented to create a filleted rim suggest the Tularosa Fillet Rim type. Beautiful form! 3-1/2"H x 7-1/4"D
