Description
Roman Empire - military issue so could have been found from Britain to Egypt. 2nd to 3rd century. Very large and heavy bronze cloak pin, in a shape known as "crossbow" for obvious reasons. Three large acorn knobs adorn the front, 10 recesses, possibly once filled with gilding or enamel on the catch. 3-5/8" L x 2-1/4" W.
