This figurative mantle clock shows a decorative bust of a woman, made of fine and very detailed cast iron. The women’s hair is styled with a beautiful tiara that is lined with coins and two noble wings. The earrings are made of matching coins, as well as the robe that is covered over and over with coins. In front of the breast, her robe forms a stylized lion’s head. Underneath, there is set the small, round clock with its beautiful enamel clock face and the blue, Roman numbers. The signature „Artassona 20. Rue de la Garte PARIS“ is located in the middle of the bronze-coloured clock face. It is covered with a fine brass lunette and a cambered glass door. Inside the bust, there is a brass movement with half-hour strike on gong. The base is cast in one piece and shows the signature “Waagen.” on the left side. There is a curved text ribbon at the front side of the base reading Benjamin Franklin's popular slogan “TIME IS MONEY“. It may be argued that our figurative mantle clock is a modern reproduction of an allegoric interpretation of this motto. The clock comes with a key winder.

The figurative mantle clock is in a good condition with the usual traces of age and use. The surface of the cast iron is slightly corroded, however this does not irritate the good overall impression of the bust. The figurative mantle clock measures 65.5 cm in height, 41 cm in width and 21.5 cm in depth. The clock was flawlessly during a short-time test; without guarantee on long term precision and regularity.
