A splendid Baroque-style mirror with surrounding flowers on acanthus leaves

The mirror presented here in Baroque style with rectangular broad framing and circumferentially simply grooved edges was created in the 19th century. The front side is covered with velvet lining in burgundy with applied open openwork floral scrolls in the spandrels and surrounding flowers on acanthus leaves and ornate carved interior trim. The mirror glass from a later period.



The mirror in is in good condition. The décor partly bronzed somewhat later. The velvet rubbed in places. Tension crack with a slight loss of material in the gusset lower left. Glued element on the top right. Partially smaller losses of gilding. Frame dimensions: 73 x 63 cm.
