Description
Arkansas, Usa, Ca 17th century. Extremely rare and fine Quapaw pottery jar. Large hollow vessel with central vent hole on top, red spout emerging from one end, head of a zoomorphic creature on other, a small ear to each side. Vessel is painted in traditional swirled colors of red, brown and off-white. 12" L by 7-1/2" H.
Provenance: Ex-Private Chicago collection acquired in the 1980's.
