Description
A late nineteenth century 15ct gold medal for Small Heath Football Club, presented to A. T. Coles for 'Valued Services', hallmarked Birmingham 1895, gross weight 11.3 grams, cased. Together with an early twentieth century 9ct gold medal for Birmingham District & Counties Football Association, hallmarked Birmingham 1906, gross weight 12.4 grams, and two silver football medals (one with 9ct gold shield mount), hallmarked Birmingham 1900 and 1906, gross weight 37.3 grams, all cased and presented to A. T. Coles, and a final base metal amateur cricket medal presented to V. Coles. (5).
Condition
All appear in fair to good overall condition, displaying general wear including surface scratches, marks and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier tarnishing visible to the silver medals and they would benefit from a clean and polish. The hallmarks are all clear and legible. General wear to boxes and one is now in two parts.
