This Sino-Tibetan gilt bronze figure of the bodhisattva was crafted during the 20th Century. The bodhisattva sits in the lotus position padmasana, with the soles of his feet turned upwards. His left hand is at ease and rests with an open palm in his lap. The right hand forms the varada mudrÄ, the gesture of bestowal. A lotus branch, which rises up to his wrist, is held with the thumb and forefinger.
The deity wears a highly detailed segmented robe with chased, floral ornaments and repoussé borders. The right shoulder and his chest are uncovered. Deep neck wrinkles and long open work earlobes underline Bodhisattvas grandeur and a five-leaved crown adorns his head, which shows small curls and a pronounced topknot. The face has finely crafted features, half-closed eyes and the third eye urna.
The gilt bronze figure is in very good condition with hardly any signs of age and wear. Only minimal gold wear is visible. The figure is sealed with a copper base plate with double vajra symbol and has the following dimensions: 33.5 x 27 x 18 cm (height x width x depth).
