Description: This lamp is made of a bronze plated statue base that moves into a more traditional desk-lamp post, which is then capped by a white, beige, and brown slag glass shade. The shade is fixed to the lamp itself by an emerald green marble topper. The statue at the base of the lamp is that of a sailor holding to his wheel in a coat and rain hat. The base of the lamp is a solid brick of bass that has been affixed to the statue. Made by Jennings Brothers to a Leonard Craske design.

History: The Jennings Brothers Metal Foundry was opened by the 3 Jennings Brothers in 1890 in Bridgeport, CT. Their offices started in 2 small wood buildings and their foundry in a brick building. Ultimately, they expanded to a larger factory building which was located on Elm Street in Bridgeport. They specialized in metal art and maintained a staff of artists and sculptors to craft their metal art objects ("Nouveau" metal art) which included clocks, bookends, statues, metal cases, candelabras and some silver-plated utensils.
