The article by Harlem Renaissance leader Locke was illustrated with 12 photos of paintings and sculpture by artists Edwin Harleston, Lillian Dorsey, Malvin Gray Johnson, Archibald Motley, William H. Johnson, Hale Woodruff, James Lesesne Wells, Laura Wheeler Waring, Sargent Johnson and Richmond Barthe; With: unused pictorial postcard, “Tanner Hall Art Galleries, American Negro Exposition”, held in Chicago in 1940. This was the first formal exhibit of the works of African-American artists.
Condition
Some wear to wrapper but otherwise very good.
