Description
Pre-Columbian, Peru, Central Coast, Ca 1000 to 1300 CE. Set of 2 terracotta figures. The first, a miniature Pottery llama with striped body and facial features painted in added brown. 3-3/4" L. x 1-5/8" H, losses to ears, snout and feet, plus surface; the second is a standing female rattle figure painted in polychrome with extended tummy, possibly indicating pregnancy. 5-3/8"H, minor losses to back of head plus surface wear/loss.
Provenance: Ex-T. Pavnik collection acquired prior to 1970.
