Tramp Art Carved Spice Box 

American, late 19th century. A spice box with eight drawers and chip-carved border decoration, drawer pulls painted red, gallery top features chip-carved graduated rosettes and triangles, bottom drawers painted in mustard yellow with red chip-carved side decorations and drawer pulls, hole for hanging in top gallery a later addition; wd. 9, dp. 6, ht. 19.75 in. 

Case having applied layered, chip-carved graduated blocks, reverse arched gallery top and single glazed door; all over a full-width divided drawer. Interior having a full shelf and half shelf, each with chip-carved front edges; retaining the original dark varnish finish; 16.5 in. wide x 7.25 in. deep x 22.5 in. high.
