Lewin Gallery in Palm Springs with title and date. In likely original painted frame and mount. Circa 1976. 16" x 12" sight, 21 1/2" x 17 1/2" OA.

Catalogue Note: Leonardo Nierman (b. 1932) is a Mexican artist who has achieved international recognition for his works over his lifetime. Born in Mexico City, Nierman studied the violin as a child but eventually turned his attention to other pursuits, including mathematics, physics, psychology, and ultimately business administration while at university in Mexico. Nierman always maintained a deep affinity for painting and art, however, and it was while he was in business school that he decided to pursue a painting career as a full-time occupation. Over his lifetime, Nierman has exhibited at noteworthy museums and galleries in several countries and has produced numerous murals, stained glass windows, and sculptures for both public and private institutions around the world, including a large mural completed in 1968 titled ""Cosmic Meditation"" for the Physics Department Building at Princeton University. The present painting is a classic example of the abstract work for which he is most recognized.
