This photograph by Chus García- Fraile depicts Westminster Abbey with altered glass windows
Chus García- Fraile created this photographic work in 2003. It is titled ‘Westminster Glasswork 0’ and depicts an abstract view of the architecture of Westminster Abbey and its glass windows, whose typical reverse glass paintings have been replaced by trademarks of today’s consumer society. The trademark ‘HR’ of the cosmetics company Helena Rubinstein is visible in the glass windows. The artist comes from traditional painting, where she has already developed a distinctive style. Now she works in a multidisciplinary manner, equally fluctuating between photography, drawing, sculpture, video and installation.
The lambda print is laminated on Aluminum board and sealed with PVC protection film. The photograph is signed, dated, titled and inscribed verso in black permanent marker on the Aluminum board ‘Chus Garcia-Fraile, 2004 “Glasswork Westminster O“ fotografic en aluminio, 75 x 136 cm, edicion 2/5’. The edges are partly bumped. There are some scratches on the surface, which are in parts mended with black felt pen. The dimensions are 135.5 x 74.5 cm.

Chus García- Fraile lives and works in Madrid and she has already become an internationally renowned artist. The artist has developed her unique style in painting and now works in a multidisciplinary way between photography, drawing, sculpture, video and installation.
