The series ‘Soma’ by Andreas Gefeller has received several prizes; the auction record for a photograph in colors of the artist is set above 18,000 Euros

The photograph depicts a golf course with sparse green, captures on the holiday island Gran Canaria in 2000. It was created by the German photographer Andreas Gefeller as part of the series ‘Soma’. He was awarded with the Reinhart Wolf Prize for the series in 2001. The series was additionally honored with awards within the frame of the European Architecture Photograpyh Prize (2001) and the Peter Keetmann Prize for Industrial Photoraphy (2002). The photo book ‘Soma’ received an award by the Art Director’s Club for Concept and Design (2001).



Verso is a label of the Galerie Burkhard Eikelmann Düsseldorf that is signed by the artist in black pen ‘A. Gefeller’. The photograph is laminated on a plastic board and sealed with an acrylic glass. There are severe scratches on the acrylic glass. The dimensions are 85 x 110 cm.



Andreas Gefeller (b. 1970)

Andreas Gefeller began his education with photography studies at the University of Essen. Afterwards, he was called into the German Photographic Academy. His work is represented in a number of important collection and was exhibited in Germany for example at the Deichtorhallen, the Kunstmuseum Bonn and the Stadtmuseum München. (tm)
