This black and white photograph by David Hamilton was a supplement to the book ‘Souvenirs de Vacances’, published 1974/76 by Robert Laffont, Paris. The book comprises 68 color and black and white reproductions of photographs by David Hamilton, showing women and teenage girls, often as nudes. Every edition of the book contained one photograph that was signed by the artist, as is the present one.



The photograph is mounted on cardboard. The work is signed ‘D. Hamilton’ on the mount right below the photograph. The photograph is in very good condition with hardly any traces of wear. The dimensions of the photograph are 22 x 14.7 cm and the support is 38 x 30 cm in size.



David Hamilton (b. 1933)

Born in London in 1933 David Hamilton moved to Paris at the age of 20, to work as a graphic designer. As a side job he began photographing and developed his own distinctive style as an art photographer in the late 1960s. His nude photographs of mostly very young models can be seen so far in 16 photographic books, five films, numerous magazines and exhibitions. (tm)
