Rough translation of the Italian text: “Dear Tito, I can’t remember well if I already told you that in the beginning of next week, I will go to St Agata and won’t return to Genoa until Friday evening or Saturday. What a splendid day! Drink of the sun and be well. - Seppina salutes you. Ad’ a G Verdi.” Feb. 23, 1883. The opera composer's ALS is on a folded sheet, for 2 leaves, each 7 ½” x 5 3/8”, text only on the front of the 1st leaf. Upper margin has pencil notation and short tear. Upper left corner of text page and edge of the blank leaf's blank verso have a tape remnant. Blank leaf shows evidence of prior mounting (not visible from text side). Small stain to a small area of the signature at lower left (overlapping the “G” and flourish, but not prominent). Overall very good.
