NORMAN ROCKWELL
(1894 - 1978) American painter and illustrator known for his homey, American genre paintings. Lot of two items, includes a good content T.L.S. "Norman" on his personal letterhead, 1p. 4to., Stockbridge, July 16, 1969 to fellow Famoust Artists School staff member Walt Reed. In part: "...you asked me also for large reproductions of THE FOUR FREEDOMS. I found out that the U.S. Government Printing Office did not have any large prints, and even the smaller prints...are out of print and there is no way I know of getting them from The Curtis Publishing Company...". Sold with a signature on a small octavo sheet: "sincerely Norman Rockwell". Both pieces are fine and would frame nicely.
