An excellent D.S., Jozef Poniatowski, as Minister of War, one page, folio, Warsaw, January 1808, in Polish. The attractive, partially printed, document (featuring a fine engraved Coat of Arms at the head) is a Virtuti Militari Patent issued in the name of Frederick Augustus, King of Saxony and Duke of Warsaw, and awards Lazarz Coqueugniot, a Major of the Northern Legion of the Army of the Duchy of Warsaw, with a Knight's Cross of the Military Medal of the Duchy of Warsaw 'in respect for and satisfaction…..for his brave and patriotic conduct'. With blank integral leaf. Rare. Some extremely minor, very light creasing,VG. €1000-1250
