Description
BONAPARTE LUCIEN: (1775-1840) Prince of Canino and Musignano. Younger brother of Napoleon Bonaparte. A.L.S., with his initials, one page, 8vo, Bruxelles, 12th April 1822, to Thomas Wyse. Bonaparte informs his son-in-law that Letizia Ramolino, Bonaparte's mother, has written to him 'in order to release you from your word given regarding the Princess Borghese' and explains that he has replied to fully release him from her word. In concluding Bonaparte states that they are all well and hope to return to Italy soon, and asks for his embraces to be given to various family members, including his daughter Letizia. With integral leaf addressed in Bonaparte's hand to Wyse at the Palais Gabrielli in Rome. Two small areas of paper loss to the integral leaf, caused by the original seal of the letter being removed when opened. Some light overall creasing and a few small, minor holes close to, but not affecting, the signature. About VG. €190-250
