Description
HUNTINGTON SAMUEL: (1731-1796) American Jurist & Statesman, a Signer of the Declaration of Independence. A.L.S., S. Huntington, one page, 4to, New Haven, 12th January 1789, to Charles Thomson. Huntington informs his correspondent that he will receive a packet 'containing thirteen setts, or volumes of the statutes which have been enacted by the legislature of this State between the Commencement of their Session in May 1784 & the close of their Session in Octor. 1788' and further explains 'It will be found on perusing the present volumes, that some of the Acts are repeated or altered by later Acts, & that some of them are merely local, notwithstanding I have thot, proper to send them all as they are Bound together'.
