Description
A pleasing Inca stone canopa from Peru, c. AD 1300 - 1500, carved from an attractive tan and reddish stone in the form of a llama or alpaca, the ears, eyes, mouth and tail indicated and the back hollowed out to hold typically a cocoa leaf and animal fat offering for a bountiful harvest. 2 in x 2 7/8 in (5 x 7.3 cm). Intact and attractive! Ex Mike Barron; Ex Indiana private collection.
