Description
Alaska, Thule Period, ca. 1000 - 1800 CE. A set of three walrus bone tools - an Adz handle, ice scratcher, and spear. The three pieces represent three steps of seal hunting of the Alaskan Inuits. The ice scratcher was used to draw the seals up to a weak point in the ice, the spear was used to kill the seal, and the adz helped to skin the animal. Finely carved. 3-1/2"L, 4-1/2"L and 8-1/2"L.
