Description
Pre-Columbian, border area of Costa Rica and Panama (Diquis Zone) dating to Chirique Phase, ca. 1000-1500 CE. These elegant earthenware forms represents early pottery created in the border area between Panama and Costa Rica. First we have a double-spouted, perhaps "wedding" vessel decorated with zoomorphic forms. The olla has a rounded bottom creating a lovely egg-shaped volume. Incised chevron motifs adorn the neck of this vessel. 6 1/4"H x 7"D at widest (olla); 4 1/4"H x 5 1/2"D at widest (wedding vessel).

Condition
Normal surface wear on both. Slight, stable hairline cracks on wedding vessel and tiny nicks to rims. Loss to rim of olla as shown. Else intact and excellent.
