Description
A choice Maya carved cylinder from the Motagua Valley of Guatemala, ca. 400 - 800 AD. This superbly made vessel is decorated with four deeply carved panels, as well as a broad rim band of highly detailed glyphs. Two of the panels depict a Vision Serpent, the other two are complex woven mat designs indicating the elite rank of the cup’s owner.
