together 2 works, first editions in the original 16 parts , each work with 24 hand-coloured aquatint plates after Rowlandson, the second also with hand-coloured engraved vignette title and tail-piece, plate 22 'Skimerton Riders' in Second Tour in first state, tissue guards, Second Tour with 4pp. advertisements at end of parts 3 & 4, Third Tour with advertisement leaf at end of part 2 and 8pp. at end part 8, some light soiling and browning, a few leaves with short marginal tears, loose in original printed buff wrappers (stitching removed), part 4 of Second Tour lacking upper wrapper (replaced with duplicate of part 1), part 8 in wrappers of part 5 with number altered in ink, parts 1-3, 7 & 10-16 numbered in ink and some with signature of "Mr.Simmons" at head of upper wrapper, a little soiled and frayed at edges, some tears and repairs, spines worn or repaired, each work preserved in silk-lined red morocco drop-front box, Schiff copy with bookplate of John M.Schiff mounted on inside lid of box and with small gilt-stamped roan label of Mortimer L.Schiff on inside front wrapper of part 1 of Second Tour, [Abbey, Life 266 & 267; Tooley 428-429], 8vo, R.Ackermann, 1820-21. Very scarce in the original wrappers.
