•â€Letters to Dr. Priestley, in answer to letters he addressed to the Jewsâ€, by the author David Levi (1740-1799). A composition defending the Jewish religion, in response to two of Priestley’s letters. The two works were published together, for the first time in the USA, in 1794 by the Jewish bookseller Benjamin Gomez. This is one of the earliest Jewish books printed in the US. At the time of publishing it was unique in that it dealt directly with the protection of the Jewish religion and in being published by Jews.
