RIPLEY ROMAN (OMN) BAPTISMAL / HOLY WATER FONT CANDELABRA WITH COVER, electric blue, bowl without lettering centering two arms fitted with original Britannia/pewter sockets, cover with cross finial, attached by a gilded-brass connector to a shaped stem with faintly embossed cross and domed foot without patent date. Extremely rare. Ripley & Co. or Geo. Duncan & Sons, Pittsburgh, PA. Circa 1870-1880. 15" HOA, 12 1/2" H to rim of font, 3 5/8" D cover, 5 1/2" D foot.

Provenance: From a Kansas private collection.
Catalogue Note: This is the first example of this font/candleholder that we have sold and the first cover that we have seen. In addition, we could not locate an actual published photograph of the complete unit.
