Charlotte's Web (2006) Make Way For Ducklings Screen Used Book Prop - In the beloved 2006 feature film version of E.B. White's classic children's novel "Charlotte's Web", farm girl Fern Arable (Dakota Fanning) saves the life of a piglet and raises him with all the love one would their own child. The bittersweet story is a celebration of "all things bright and beautiful", especially of the special souls of animals. The live-action/CGI film also utilized the voice talents of some of the greatest actors in film including John Cleese, Oprah Winfrey, Robert Redford, Reba McEntire, Steve Buscemi, Sam Shepard, Kathy Bates, and Cedric the Entertainer. And, of course Julia Roberts as the voice of the heroic but ill-fated Charlotte the Spider. In one sequence Fern comes out of Church holding a book, and tells her mother she is rushing back to the barn to read it to "her friends"... all the barn animals. The book is "Make Way For Ducklings" by author-illustrator Robert McCloskey's, which is his best-selling own classic story of pair of mallard ducks who raise their family in a lagoon situated in a park right in the center of Boston. The similarities between the book, and the story unfolding in Fern's world is obvious! This is that hero screen used book that Fern holds so dearly to read to her animal friends. It has been lovingly encased in a custom made display which includes its own Plexiglass holder, two framed screen shots of the book from the film, a special plaque, and an official "Charlotte's Web" background. The entire display is enclosed in a special Plexiglass cover. A beautiful museum quality memorabilia for anyone's collection, and especially grand in library, den, office, nursery or children's room!
