This graphic shows a branch on which are hanging two pears. They are provided with two holes and thus give way to a view of a desert landscape. Below the pears a dragon-like creature can be seen. From his cock grow pear blossoms and the horn on its nose is formed by a branch with a flower bud. Below this lithographed scene a landscape with a woman’s bust is depicted in the technique of etching. The graphic was created as the ninth of twelve sheets for the portfolio ‘FlorDali (Les Fruits)’, which was published in 1969/70 by WUCUA (advertising and Commerz Union Anstalt) in Vaduz.

The lithograph with drypoint and embossing is signed lower right in pencil ‘Dali’, numbered lower left in pencil ‘CXXVIII/CL’. The sheet is overall stronger darkened and bears occasional tiny foxmarks minor surface soil in the margins. It is framed in a recto gilded frame with some signs of age and use. The sheet measures 74 x 55.9 cm. The framed dimensions are 78 x 59 cm.
