The eponymous ‘fig man’ of this graphic is constructed from a fig as a head and a cut fig, which forms the chest and to that the arms and legs are attached. A fig branch is depicted next and pierced the man's leg. Below this scene are black, etched lines and ornaments to see. The graphic was created as the second of twelve sheets for the portfolio ‘FlorDali (Les Fruits)’, which was published in 1969/70 by WUCUA (advertising and Commerz Union Anstalt) in Vaduz.
The lithograph with drypoint and embossing is signed lower right in pencil ‘Dali’, numbered lower left in pencil ‘CXXII/CL’. The sheet is overall stronger darkend and bears a foxmark in the left as well as in the upper margin. It is framed in a recto gilded frame with some signs of age and use. The sheet measures 75 x 55.9 cm. The framed dimensions are 78 x 59 cm.
