John Hancock Document Signed. One partially-printed page, 6.5" x 8", Boston, July 31, 1782. Here Hancock, as governor of Massachusetts, orders state treasurer Henry Gardner to "pay unto David Morey for Writing in the Secretary's Office from 5th July to the 30th . . . the Sum of Eight pounds one Shilling infull [sic] of his Account of Said Service." Countersigned by John Avery. Docketed on the verso. Edges are uneven. Lower right corner is damaged slightly. Moderately toned along the lower edges.
