An Edwardian inlaid mahogany tubular bell quarter chiming eight-day longcase regulator, unsigned, early 20th century, the substantial triple train movement chiming the quarters on eight tubular gongs and stiking the hour on an additional gong, the going train with deadbeat escapement, Harrison's maintaining power and fine beat adjustment for the large lenticular bob pendulum, the 12.5 inch brass break-arch dial with matted centre within applied silvered Roman numeral chapter ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers and cast winged cherub head spandrels to angles, the arch with subsidiary STRIKE/SILENT and WHITTINGTON/WESTMINSTER selction dials within conforming brass mount infill, the swan neck pedimented case with urn-centred foliate scroll decorated infill above Corinthian columns and rectangular side frets to hood, shallow-arch bevel glazed front door with crossbanded borders and full-height rectangular glazed side windows to trunk, the plinth with inlaid urn motif to front and moulded skirt base, 242cm (95.5ins) high.
