Influenced by Arthur Rackham this delightful drawing of rampaging goblins was given by Whistler to his school nurse, a generous practice he continued throughout his life. Aged only sixteen at the time both his humour and his fascination with the 18th century are already in evidence, as well as his suberb draughtsmanship. Exhibited at Rex Whistler.
