A 1¾IN. DECAGONAL SINGLE-DRAW MARINE TELESCOPE BY NAIRNE & BLUNT, LONDON, CIRCA 1780
probably pine, the tapering main tube with lacquered-brass fittings for main lens assembly and draw-tube signed as per title with tapering eyecup with dust slide -- 49½in. (125.5cm.) closed
++Main tube appears to be in good original condition with no splitting or shrinkage cracks etc., some minor marks and abrasions commensurate with age. Optics appear to be intact originals with chromatic aberration in evidence, two sliver chips visible but image focuses well.
