GERMAN MEISSEN PORCELAIN ALLEGORICAL FIGURE OF WINTER, the standing figure of an old man, swathed in a fur-lined puce cape, beside a neoclassical plinth topped by fire, a bucket of coals to his right, on a flat-topped, scrolling rococo, mounded cylindrical base. Underglaze blue crossed swords mark, with a strike through it, to the underside. Impressed 143, script 31, incised 2731. Circa 1900. 9 1/4" H.

Condition
Very good condition, but a factory second. There are two brown spots near ribs and left calf, caused by a glaze blow-out, and a very light firing crack from the baluster through the thigh. Left thumb tip chipped.
