Description
Pre-Columbian, Peru, Inca, ca. 1300 CE - 1500 CE. A solid silver Inca stag figurine. The Inca were well-known for their mastery of metalwork. Gold and silver, valued for their ability to reflect sunlight, were reserved to create treasured objects for the elite. Unfortunately, most Inca silver and gold was melted down by the Spanish conquistadors. Hence, this stag figurine, comprised of solid silver, is all the more precious! 4cm H.
