Description

Beautiful KPM porcelain dessert set, 24 in all, comprising 8 plates measuring 8 inches across, 8 fruit saucers measuring 5 1/4 inches across and 8 cups at 2 inches in height. Each piece is artistically hand decorated with brightly painted floral sprigs and garden bouquets and bordered by a surround of fanciful raised gold scrollwork. Decorative gold trim encircles the inside of each cup and each handle is deftly flourished in gold. Every piece bears the iron red mark of KPM and the Imperial Orb as well as the flow blue sceptre with a diagonal bar under the glaze. Other marks include a Maltese Cross in either in flow blue or ink black on 4 cups and 3 saucers. There are other impressed or hand applied factory marks and two of the plates have tiny hand painted butterflies on the back. Highly cherished set. Uncommonly excellent factory fresh condition.
