Description
A late 19th century Austro-Hungarian necklace, the blue paste and split pearl multi-colour enamel panel, of openwork floral and scrolling design, suspending a similarly designed drop, to the similarly designed back-chain. Length 43cms.
Condition
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface wear and discolouration in keeping with age. Some possible replacement pastes. Some possible replacement split pearls. Split pearls differ slightly in appearance, creamy to creamy white colour. Fairly good skins with some surface abrasion. Fairly good lustre. Pastes in good condition with minor abrasion. Some significant wear to the enamel. Central wreath with significant wear and brown discolouration to the enamel surface layer of decoration. Possible repairs to the enamel. Clasp stamped PV 835.
