Item Details

Description

A pair of early 20th century turquoise and enamel blackamoor ear pendants, each designed as an enamel blackamoor bust with turban and circular turquoise cabochon accents, suspended from a similarly designed stylised bow and floral surmount. Length 5.5cms. Weight 9.7gms.

Condition

Overall condition fair. Some surface wear in keeping with age. Replacement wire fittings. Significant wear and chips to the enamel. Wear to the yellow metal surfaces. Evidence of repair/alteration, obsolete part of a hinge fitting to the reverse, possibly converted to earrings. Turquoise varies slightly in hue, typical veining.
