Description
Jade and noble wood. China, late Qing, approx. 19th cent. to 1900
This small, fine and precisely worked vessel is approximately formed after a Ding, this particularly applies to the very distinct handles. The vessel itself, more after a drinking cup. It has a flared foot edged at an angle and outward-curving walls. The fine relief on it offers mountains, a lake, huts and a rafter. On the handles, archaistic C- and grid patterns. The arched cover is fine openwork, also showing C-patterns and holds a bud as a knob. Very good condition.
