vol. 2 only (of 3), 354 ff., 2A1 blank, 59 lines and headline, Gothic type, initials in red and blue, the first with a marginal flourish, initial-strokes and underlining in red, small worm traces or holes within text, mostly at start, affecting a few letters on most ff., but with no loss of sense, a few small marginal repairs, occasional staining or spotting, [not in BMC; HC 10365; Goff N-132], Venice, [Bonetus Locatellus] for Octavianus Scotus, 9th August, 1488 bound with (between 2m8 and 2A1) c.88 ff. from vol.1 of the same work, 16th century blind-tooled calf, remains of metal clasps, spine ends worn, corners worn, rubbed and scuffed, folio Nicholas of Lyre's commentaries on the Bible. He believed that the literal meaning of the text had to be understood before the mystical could be interpreted correctly.
