Manuscript document issued by John Rutherford, Captain, 3.75 x 6.25 in. Fort Cumberland, 1755. Document requesting pay for a teamster by the name of Enoch Ziggler who was in General Edward Braddock's Expedition against Fort Duquesne. Perfect for display. The document states, in part:Â

Enoch Ziggler Teamster joined with part of Colonel Dunbars Detachment of Cumberland on the 20th of May with 6 pack horses transporting Kings Stores on the Expedition under General Braddock against Fort Dequesne Returning July 22 1755 64 days inclusive at the rate of 12 shillings per day with the publick finding forage. The Braddock expedition, named after General Edward Braddock, was a failed British military expedition that took place in the summer of 1855, involving the attempt to capture the French Fort Duquesne.
