US Springfield Model 1858 Percussion Rifle with a Maynard tape primer. The lock plate engraved with an eagle with shield to its breast and stamped 1858 US SPRINGFIELD; 40” long round barrel with front sight, steel trigger guard with sling swivel, and second sling swivel, steel butt plate, three oval bands two solid, steel ram rod, total length approximately 56”. Walnut stock with patch box has minor press and scuff marks, minor surface rust on barrel, all other metal parts have extensive pitting, Maynard tape primer system missing the magazine cover. Fair condition but in good working order.
