A handsome Roman bronze figure of a seed sower, c. 1st-2nd Century AD, depicted as a boy wearing a wide-brimmed hat, a cloak, boots, his body turned and in the act of tossing a handful of seeds. H: 3 1/8 in (8cm). Loss of right arm, excellent facial detail and great style! Ex Royal Athena Galleries, New York acquired on the Munich art market April 2012; Ex old private collection, Frankfurt, Germany.
