A lovely Elamite bronze dagger, c. mid-3rd Millennium BC, with short leaf-shaped blade made separately from the hilt, two parallel blood channels to either side of the midrib on both faces. The hilt with curved guard and decorated with parallel incised lines opposite five rows containing seven raised pellets, one surviving copper rivet secures the blade, the other now lost but the hole remains. L: 9 2/5 in (23.9cm). Intact with a glossy olive patina and light deposits. A gorgeous example of this early dagger type!. Cf.
