c. 1860 Civil War Era, Union Cavalry Two-Piece Flagstaff with Brass American Eagle Finial, Choice Very Fine.
Magnificent original Civil War Era Union Cavalry Flagstaff, over 11 Feet long including its finial, complete with its original yellow cavalry cord and gilded Brass 6" x 6.25” American Eagle finial. The two-piece wooden staff screws together near center at a heavy brass fitting. The upper section is 82” long without its finial, and the lower section is 43.25” long x 1.5” in diameter, having an original rich mahogany color patina. An outstanding, rare example that is ready to be reunited with a period Civil War Era Flag (not included). A most impressive and great historic item for display. Rare.
